A sign! Tuvia has come back into his own after a horrible month of August, in and out of the hospital:tests, an operation, hopelessness.
I don’t know about you, but I always believed that you if have a medical problem it can be solved. I know, romantic. Even though Tuvia is a doctor and very realistic, I believed in the myth of the white coat.
After a month of tests, more tests, an operation and more tests Tuvia’s lost 20 pounds in the cycle of prepping for a test and then adjusting to normal again. Sadly, so far they have not found the source of his bleeding problem.
He is now a patient with a superstar gastroenterologist who has new data to read from Tuvia’s last capsule test taken last Tuesday. Now that’s a very cool test. He swallows a small capsule, puts on a belt with technology able to read the data from the camera in that capsule circling through his intestines. Sounds like a movie I saw in my childhood. But the camera can only shoot what’s in front, so it misses a lot. He’s taken this test twice before with no clear results, but maybe this time it will work and maybe this time his new doctor will see something with sharper eyes. Maybe I can believe again.
But what’s more important is the reality above. Tuvia is back. He’s not bleeding now, but if and when he starts again he has a plan. He is back in charge, back in his life, filling up our calendar with events.
I’m feeling very good about that. I believe in Tuvia 🙂
