What a day to be presenting at a tech conference! Actually last night was the real pressure. As newbie coordinator of the Welcome Wagon and Slicer in Year 7, I couldn’t screw up.
SO,
yesterday, during a PD workshop that I was leading, I had an afternoon slot to get organized , creating my own chart new Slicers to be matched up with seasoned Slicers who know the magic and power of a comment.
I played with a variety of options, on the web, on my computer… I hate charts!
I made a good stab at it, enough to allow me to breathe as I traveled home from a good day with High School Science Teachers and then into Tuvia’s car for a trip to Hoboken for Friday night dinner with his family. I had a drink, I had a great dinner, I played with the kids and finally, as everyone else collected together at the table for the usual after-dinner contest of Israel’s Remmie tile game, I had time to get back to my chart. More newbies to add…60 and growing. and the math was easy. We have a team of 10 pros..
Easy to connect the dots… BUT how to get the info out to the WW group? I didn’t have their emails.
HELP Betsy, my Welcome Wagon mentor for the necessary emails…. without freaking for more than say 20 minutes I had the email response I needed! THANK YOU BETSY!
The email left me with that lovely swish just as Tuvia was putting on his coat.
Out the door, into the car, home, pjs on, one episode of the West Wing Season 3 and off to bed so I could get back up and out for the NYSCATE conference leaving home by 6:45.
So, how’s Day 1 going? The conference is fantastic! I’m up to present with my buddy Jack in 30 minutes and good thing he’s here and taking the lead.
Food for day 2 🙂
I’m afraid your list is going to grow by leaps and bounds. Can’t believe how many slices are up already and so many say I’m new. 199 posts and the evening is still young. Yikes!
I did have to build on the WW list but not by much. A lot of the Slicers are returning.
Wow, Bonnie, what a whirlwind day! Thought of you and your purple bathing suit when I bought a new suit today. Maybe tomorrow I’ll join a gym. I don’t think all this snow will ever melt!
I hear you! What a crazy but great week. Sounds like our snow report has calmed down though. I need to get back in the pool 🙂
Thanks Bonnie for your work for the SOLC team! Your multitasking ability is amazing. 🙂
Loving the race..
Hooray! You made your work look easy! Thanks for the list and all your time!
thank you!!!!! It just took time to figure out how best to keep track and then I started moving easily.
Oh, boy – what a day for you! You certainly are a tech wizard, Bonnie!
Ha! Nope I’m a newbie with charts 🙂
This made me laugh out loud! I remember the feeling when I did WW last year, whirlwind is right (I think someone above said that). Glad you got the emails timely, weird that they came through as a BC earlier, but all is well now. Great job coordinating and yes, I’m afraid Elsie is right, hold onto your hat a little bit longer cause it’s gonna grow.
thanks Betsy!!! I just added a few more to each on the team.
Okay then, how do I start? Do you want my email? You have my blog address…
Check out that email I just sent you. 🙂
Thanks for being so on-top of the Welcome Wagon, Bonnie! I know it’s going to make a positive impact on a lot of people’s slicing experience.
Thanks for coming through so late last night. Did you sleep much?
You were multitasking? Charts rock!
🙂
I hope it went well. What were you presenting on?
Kevin
I had a wild three days! PD at two schools on Thursday and Friday and yesterday we created an HVWP strand at the local NYSCATE conference. By yesterday I was dragging but good thing that my buddy Jack was taking the lead. I”m glad to be getting to Sunday!
