A bit of Rain got in our way but… : Slice of Life March Marathon Day 13

Back at the beach we hit a bit of a snag yesterday afternoon.  Rain hit us!  Tuvia never rushes out of rain, especially warm rain, me, I was annoyed to be soaked, but after so many gorgeous days here we spent the late afternoon watching episodes of the West Wing Season 4 and that kept us happy.  What’s not to love about President Jeb Bartlett and his team.  Sadly, it’s fiction.

Anyway, we continued on into a lovely evening and dinner Italian at Toscana.  But since we were scheduled for an early morning pickup and tour of Tulume, almost two hours away, I made some calls and finally got word that if the rain was falling early in the AM no trip.

At 6 it was pouring!  6:30, still…7 a bit less.  7:30 hmm.  We were to leave at 7:35.  No one called to give us the word.  I called. No, the trip was not canceled, but no call from the driver… We were done and with a few more calls back and forth with Miguel, we were officially reimbursed.

Yes, we wanted to go, especially Tuvia, but the weather is not a sure thing today and the clouds are moving us in and out.

I am happy to be right here, right now.  I will exercise in the gym, swim in the afternoon, read Slices, watch some West Wing, drink tequila at 4, dine again at the French restaurant with our waiter, Angel, who remembered us from our November visit.

Rain or shine I am in this space, living fantasy!

Tomorrow is our last day here for 2014.

Home on Saturday and we will be ready to get back!

Well I know that Tuvia can say that without reservation 🙂

  1. Seems like we’ve had similar weather today. Sorry you missed your excursion, but I’m sure you made the most of your day. Enjoy the remainder of it, making great memories.

  2. So glad you have enjoyed your time in the warm and sun! I sure have enjoyed your pics! Maybe I should watch West Wing this summer…

  3. Such gorgeous pictures! One would have to be crazy not to be happy there! So sad no excursion, but isn’t that another reason to return? I miss the West Wing, too.

  4. You guys are great – not even a little rain can dampen your will to enjoy your time away. You made the most of it. Safe trip home, my friend.
    PS> What’s Tuvi areading? He’s into it!
