I keep hoping that it will get easier to pack for a trip. I long to streamline my bags like I see some travelers are able to do as they leisurely move around airports but sorry, it’s always complicated for me even when I am traveling in my own car.
I started the process last night, very spontaneously even though I had planned to do it all in the early morning.
I had lots of organizing to do first to make the room look presentable so that Tuvia would not have to close the door when I leave.
I have so much to consider: big camera or smaller, laptop and/or iPad, Kindle? Clothes: more warmer one, winter jacket, shoes…
GUITAR!!!!
Of course it’s much easier with a car to fill if necessary, but why is it that packing for Tuvia is no biggie?
He just doesn’t take much!!!!
Okay, I just decided I have to take more warm tops.
Men have just one basic look, women have endless possibilities of looks, and must be prepared to pull it off. At least having a car to hold the maybe options is easier than everything in one carry-on bag. Have a great trip!
And then there’s my tech life. Tuvia still won’t touch a smart phone and his iPad is gathering dust. Good thing he always has extra room in his suitcase for my extras.
I hope you have a fun trip and all of your warm sweaters are in your car. I love your avatar, so happy. I had to read your story.
I admit that I can pack a small overnight bag for a one day trip while Kathy needs a suitcase. I figure if I didn’t pack I could but it if I need it. Can be expensive, though.
Not good at this either. And whenever I’ve packed lightly, I’ve always paid for it!
I hate packing! I even had anxiety for you looking at your photos! I find myself staying up soooo late to pack because I’ll get too flustered in the morning.
I always wish there was some kind of time travel way to just return to my closet & take out what I want “that” day. Simple! I understand your musings exactly!
And if it’s cold and you need warm clothes, if it’s warm you need cool clothes. If you leave one set home, you know it will be the set you need. You might as well be prepared, right? We used to pack the entire back end of a truck and there are only two of us! I prided myself on always being prepared. A plane trip is a little more challenging.
The hardest decisions for me are which books to pack. I really should read on the Kindle more, but I still love the page. Traveling in my own car is the worst – always easy to throw in one more bag or item.
My packing got a lot easier after I got my Kindle! But for some reason there is always an extra journal that travels with me….not sure why. Maybe to keep company with the markers that I can’t leave behind!
