Hard to Get Up, But Then the Magic Happens… #nerdlution15

I can’t say that I’m not happy that it’s 7:30 AM and I’m still in my pjs.  Ten years ago, in my last year of teaching high school, I dreamed about this- pj,s, the Today Show, coffee #1 and it’s still thrilling especially on Monday’s like this, when working teachers are struggling to get back into their morning routines.

I remember…

Yes, it was tough to get out of bed, especially in the darkness and yes, I prayed for a reprieve- SNOW!!!!!

But then I was moving… shower was hot, clothes were waiting to be filled, lunch packed in the fridge, bags ready at the door.  Just enough time for a fast coffee, a bit of news and I was out and off and into a cold car and on my way with some Billy Joel or John Lennon or Bonnie Raitt, singing me back to school.

By the time I arrived, parked in my spot, grabbed up my stuff and I took my stroll back into my school I was almost in my groove.  I needed that first walk around the lightly filling hallways, into my 310. Lights on…

Back home and smiling. I was ready to greet my kids and so happy I was a teacher.

So welcome back friends.  Enjoy the magic that you create in 2015!
