Just one week ago I was sitting right here, in our brightly lit kitchen with the Today Show softly keeping me connected to the outside world, with Tuvia right across from me wondering when I would be less distracted, with coffee to my right just not strong enough. As overwhelmed as I felt, I was happy, engaged, creating a new digital piece, racing along in a groove.
I was sure I’d be done on time but just setting a deadline- 12:01 January 1, 2015, kept me glued to the screen. Sure, I took breaks. Without them the piece would have been ruined if I kept going beyond my focus. It’s complicated to work with Final Cut Pro, sometimes freezing, sometimes clicking the wrong thing, the screen can transform- yikes! I’m already into my second 2 TB eternal hard drive. In fact, storage is always an issue for me. I’ll be back at my favorite Apple store tomorrow morning catching up on storage.
What I really loved about creating this piece was the challenge to make it right, to showcase the images and words of the 43 contributors. So when I uploaded the final version to You Tube after Tuvia watched it with thumbs up and sent the link to Tara who watched it immediately and sent back a text and it worked for her I moved it to PUBLIC viewing on You Tube and sent it out in an email to everyone who joined Our 2014 and the comments and feedback started to flow in. Kim D., Margaret S. sent to out to their FB and Twitter worlds. Stacey and Kevin followed, Kevin sharing it on our iAnthology home page and then I realized that I could send it out on FB by tagging the members there and lots of us are on FB… and wow, the comments.
I have them on my You Tube channel, in my email, on FB and twitter. WOW!!! That’s what I call authentic publishing.
And now what next???? I’m obsessed with WHAT NEXT?
After tomorrow’s visit to my Apple guys, with a clean EHD I’ll be working on a teacher documentary of our HVWP PD work at Ellenville HS. I need to keep myself in the process.
So many possible OLWs for me, but for now I’m not focusing on one. Maybe CREATE!!!!
Anyway, if you haven’t seen this piece yet and would like to here’s Our 2014
I love seeing and learning from your endeavors in digital art.
