Reality/Fantasy the Pull/Balance?: #SOL15 #writingintotheday #24

I’m happy to be writing from our balcony.  It’s breezy, birds are chirping, ocean is rolling,  Tuvia is reading in a very comfortable  chair and I am writing this slice on my computer, where I’m a very happy writer.

We arrived on Sunday afternoon, comfortably missing the ice/snow storm that followed behind us but  as much as I love  this warm beach paradise, I can’t stay away from my weather channel apps, from NBC or my email announcing school closings that will impact on next week when this beach becomes another wonderful memory.

So there’s the world here of beach, food, drink and more.  We carve out a routine that is always open for change at a moment’s whim, but I remain hooked to my phone for photos and email, given that there’s internet throughout the complex most of the time.

Paradisus is a departure for us.  We have been Excellence customers for the last few years but to spice things up a bit I pushed for a different spot and it’s very different: more modern, less Mexican in flavor. Still deluxe but more distant.  Less about the water- fewer pools, small beach area but more restaurants and this hotel has a section for adults and one for families.  Both groups meet up in the middle to eat.  Some spaces are adults only and honestly, unless there are kids on the other side that I know, I’m all for the separation.

So we are reading a lot.  I just finished All the Light We Cannot See.  Loved it.  Loved the writing, the characters, the twists and turns, from start to finish I was in it.  Well maybe the finale could have been tighter, Not sure.  But I would totally recommend it.  Tuvia refuses to read on my iPad and has lugged a few books along that he is turning from page to page.  I don’t miss that experience.

As for entertainment, because we are maintaining our usual early morning up and out, after dinner and a walk, I am just as happy to get back to the room, prepare the jacuzzi, and settle into a series now that iTunes streams outside the USA.  We are hooked right now on The Americans.

So we are good and back home…well, all good there now that I know that our PD plans for next week are officially on hold given the power of mother nature and snow days.

So, it’s back to the beach for now.
