I’ve Made my Peace with the Beach: #sol15 Twowriging TEACHERS.

Every day on this vacay we spent most of our morning at the beach, in the shade.  We had our comfy lounge chairs covered with towels and with books we read to our hearts content.  It’s a new experience for me to feel at one with beach life.  Of course I was in my shorts and tee, not like most of the women, decked out in suits- many in 2 pieces.

Yes, I brought bathing suits with full intentions to swim, but this year has not been a swimming year for me back home and it’s been even harder to get my mojo moving to climb into one of my suits here.  It’s an effort and one that has haunted me for years.

The bathing suit!

But my variation has served me well from the time that Tuvia arrived in my life 20 years ago and I came to embrace our annual and even semi-annuals walks along the Sea in Tel Aviv.  Tomorrow is our last day here and I’ve promised myself I will embrace the suit, the purple one even if I will be need a shoe horn to get in and out of it for bathroom visits.  Good thing I love the bathrooms here.

Sad that tomorrow is our last day, after our dinner back at the Steak House with VIP treatment it’s even harder to think about leaving. But for now, we are embracing every moment.

  1. I love our last line, embracing every moment – then embrace that purple bathing suit! Enjoy your last moments at the beach.

  2. And I’m thinking, “I’d love to be on the beach right now!” Suit or no suit, the beach is therapeutic. And with a book? Girl, you’ve got it made. I’m so glad that you’ve been able to go on an adventure. Try the suit tomorrow; you can do it!
