Morning T,
Coming to you from Ellenville. Total quiet, even the baby in Josh’s room is still asleep, hey even my brother Jeff is still asleep and it’s almost 7 but then I don’t even know what time the gang called it a night, last night. I was free to stay up with them but you know me, when it’s time, it’s time and after a crazy night on Friday with just a few hours of sleep, I am happy to say I caught up last night even on Manda’s very soft mattress.
It was one of those dingy days yesterday but once I hit Rt. 17 headed up to Ellenville, I was starting to breathe deeply and take in the Fall colors before they leave us.
I took my dad out to lunch, just the two of us. It was quiet, but he understands what I’m going through. He still feels the loss of my mom and now your loss as well. His friends, his town and his independence are gone. He asks how I am and knows the answer just by looking at me. When I don’t call him, he worries and I don’t have you here to ask, “Did you call you dad today?” Sometimes I forget.
He insists on paying and you aren’t here to stop him. I have never agreed with you. He steps up and I say, thank you.
Back at Marla’s the house is filling. As Manda and Steve arrive with Eliana, their very active toddler and the attention shifts as it should, to this ball of energy and being the new face, she invites me to play with her and I dive in.
It’s good to be with my clan, in my town, but I itch to be closer to you, back home. Don’t worry I’m staying here for another night.
Miss you T on this October morning,
Bonnie S.
Love that picture with the shoes already off, just as it should be. Loving family surrounding you is a good thing, Bonnie, though I know there is always an empty place. I hope you have some fun with the family today. Hugs for some sunshine, real or imagined!
Thanks Linda. I’m so tempted to jump back into the car and head for home but I’m sticking here
Glad to read you will resist that urge to head back to the house. Soak in your family atmosphere, especially that littlest cutie.
I’m trying to stay
The baby heads out after dinner with her parents but I’m staying until morning
Being with the clan and that delightful child is healing, too.
Sure was 🙂 Still here
I can hear a little happiness being with family. Glad they are loving you through it all. 🙂
They are👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
