Morning Tuv R,
I’m up early with breaking news: Hillary is taking the Iowa caucuses from Bernie in a squeaker and the Donald was toppled by Ted Cruz, with Marco finishing a strong 3rd.
Exciting, don’t you think? I’m breathing again with the Donald forced to humble himself-LOSER!!!
The first presidential campaign without you here to weigh in, so I’m going to keep you updated but I know where you would be standing. Bernie for you is not Barack ,and I’m pretty sure that you would be standing with Hillary. We stand together in reality.
Yes, I love Bernie but I don’t see him as a viable candidate in a national campaign and I don’t think he is prepared for it. But it was tense last night when I dined with Hilda and Marie-France, both now turned off to Hillary. I took them on but they were emotional and I didn’t have enough energy. I took the high road.
But I’m excited with political distraction and it’s important to have this battle for Obama’s successor. I’m remembering our commitment to Barack in both elections when we campaigned for me in marches and Nyack phone banks. Our political lives were always in motion. Celebrating his inauguration with him in DC.
I’m up at 4:30 for both of us-watching, writing…
Yes, I did get some sleep but I couldn’t stay asleep with unsettled dreams. It’s a great time to be alive. Wish you were!
Politics, YES!
Miss you,
Bonnie S.
I must say, I was relieved when the Donald didn’t win in Iowa. However I’m not looking forward to the next ten months of political ads.
Nice to see the Donald humbled and weakened. It was just too easy for him up to now. Glad to see people aren’t so stupid.
It certainly was an exciting night. I have a former colleague who is now in Iowa so he’s kept us posted as to what he thought was going to happen. What a year this will be. I remember that first time with Obama. I was beyond excited. Glad you were with friends, despite the conflict. That’s what is so good about our country. Everyone gets to have an opinion! Have a nice day, Bonnie.
I’m remembering when we tossed off Hillary for Barack the first time. I do love Bernie’s stance but I like Hillary and believe that she will get more accomplished. I’m sure if I were in my 20’s I’d be Bernie all the way but I went through the idealists of the 60’s that lost to Nixon, Regan etc.
I listened to Bernie on Sunday and understand his appeal. I just don’t think he can win it all in November.
Should be an interesting few months ahead.
I sent too much of my 20’s loving the idealists and then they would lose to a conservative Republican. Sadly it will happen again.
As an Iowan, I am happy the Donald didn’t win, but not so sure about Ted Cruz either. I do know that Bernie and Hillary have my high school students and former students in college excited and involved in the process, and that can only be a good thing. Several former students posted that they became delegates from their caucus precincts and will be staying involved in the election process. For me, that is the best news from yesterday. Now, for a few weeks of peace from the candidates while they head off to the next states…
How cool Deb to live right in the heart of the beginning of the process and watch your kids get into it!
Bonnie, I am happy you are finding excitement and anticipation in this election season, although I know you feel Tuvia’s absence always. I was happy to watch Donald tumble last night, too. I just can’t believe he even made it this far.
That’s right Dana and thanks always for your kindness. Always appreciated. 🙂
I’m not an Iowan, but this Michigander is still glad Donald lost! 🙂
YAY!!!!!
It is going to be interesting to see who we end up with as candidates. I am hoping all voters weigh where each candidate stands and believes and vote for who will be best for the country whether it is someone in our own party or not.
Bonnie, for some reason when I click on your link it takes me to my WordPress site. Don’t know what I am doing wrong. Hope this gets posted.
Stacey caught it and I reposted. Thanks Bob for checking in too and even though you are trying to offer a neutral spin to the political scene, I know you are a political guy, right?
You caught me, Bonnie. What can I say. God didn’t give us mouths to be quiet.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This is the first post where your voice sounds so happy and excited. Politics are good medicine for what ails you.
I’m pretending 😍
Well the vote on Trump seems to be in . . . and I can say I agree 150%! Politics can be so filled with passion, and we have about 10 more months!
Ugh…this election is giving me agita.
