Morning T,
I was all set to move out after my weekly guitar lesson. I was dressed and ready to restock my shelves for dinner guests coming tomorrow night. Yes. it’s a revolving door now- feasts for friends who were here to spend my first Valentine’s Day filling solo, with me.
I had an early morning visit with Jonathan, catching up with him on his digital work and sharing stories about you of course. You are never too far from my thoughts or lips.
In fact, let me take a moment to share my VD gifts with you…
- The Photo on the top left was in Sharon’s last show and I’ve had my eye on it for weeks Of course she saw all the signs and gave me the time and space to decide if I could live without it. When I saw it hanging on a wall in her house last week, I thought… no, it belongs somewhere in my house. As we munched on lunch together I grabbed my checkbook out of my bag and started writing. Wrapped up in a ShopRite bag, as soon as I got home, even before I took off my winter coat, I saw the perfect spot for it. After moving the small Taos ceramic to join something from Julia on the other side of the window in the kitchen this new photo had just the right spot just to the right of my sink. Know where I mean? You must have had your hands in this, right? Those shoes remind me of your comfortable, but worn out shoes that you refused to replace.
So great to have artist friends!!!!
2. Flowers for VD Day. Flowers every day thanks to your need to shower those you loved with bouquets often. I’m continuing your ritual but sorry, no roses this year, but don’t you love my lovely yellow buds??? I’m smiling right now as I look to my right.
3. Lastly, one last lavish splurge- VD dessert for me and those who love great cheesecake, the Ultimate Red Velvet Cheesecake So far, the cake is the thing- Leora and Ron loved their slices- devouring them with a flourish! Jonathan and Lisa, intent on eating healthy, couldn’t refuse, and Tara and Scott, also grinned as they slowly consumed their slices and there’s so much more for my dinner party tomorrow night and more events to come. the bottom shelf of my freezer if filled with tin foil packages. 🙂
A Good day yesterday and of course,
I Missed you deep down in the depths of my being. Just the way I miss you every day.
Love you,
Bonnie S.
The cheesecake looks fabulous, and I love the shoe photo too.
Thanks Lisa
The painting is delightful. a beauty in memory of your special one. Glad to hear you smiling. 🙂
I am smiling more and more MaryHelen.
Three bits of joy all tied back to the one you miss the most. That cake is making my stomach growl, looks decadent!
Amazing cake but I’m off today… yes… love being in my space and hate being here without Tuvia (at the same time… love/hate Crazy extremes.
Three wonderful things. I love the painting, and yes, it is lovely to have artist friends. I have a number of paintings with windows and/or doors, and your new piece is so alluring. And then those shoes that mean for much make it even more special. That cheesecake, wow, Bonnie. It looks fabulous. What a nice thing to do, to purchase for all your company.
And for me of course. My freezer is full! Shoes never look more appealing. 🙂
It was such fun to be with you, and enjoy dinner in your company surrounded by all the art and each of their stories! That cake was out of this world … so glad that I didn’t have the will to resist!
