Letters to Tuvia Y3/#sol18 3/27: Make a Video/Play Plants vs Zombies

Dear Tuvia,

I’m remembering, as I obsess over PvsZ ,that you could never understand the attraction of the video game.  Yes, you loved chess, but a video game?

“You must be bored.”

Nope, never bored.  I’m good at it and love it. I’ve tried other games but I always return to the zombies.  Crazy…yes… but then I don’t  gamble, I have no interest in sports, so hey… Plants and Zombies…and there’s a brand new PvsZ2 Tournament but I have to stay away.  I have a video to create and we’re getting close to a Board of Ed presentation so… time to stop procrastinating.

It’s funny, once I get involved in a new piece, I’m  happy to be in the  process, but until I’m in, I’m not.

After a wonderful conversation with the asst. superintendent of the school district I’ve been working with, the reality of the upcoming Board Meeting chilled me and after some guitar practice and a few rounds of the new PvsZ Tournament,(I won the first two weeks). I opened my lap top, connected my external hard drive and clicked on Final Cut Pro software to figure out what I could use from the two pieces I’ve already created for this teacher team. Officially this new piece has moved from the back to the front of my mind and the guilt is gone.

When you were sitting across the table from me and I opened my computer and hooked up my external hard drive you knew I was going away and as the due date got closer, I was gone until I called you for the first viewing.  But as I got more and more involved you held on tightly to make sure we still got out for a movie, for dinner, for a walk.  It was for me but of course for you.  I had you to talk through the work.

Now, there’s no holes barred.

Well, that’s not totally true. I’ll be sharing my video time with two little Kaplans tomorrow and by Friday there will be two more Kaplans and then two more…on Friday night… 6…

Sweet distractions! Still a source of sweet distraction…

And… the BOE meeting isn’t until April Video is not due until April 9!  Lots of time, right?

Its almost Passover #3 without you.

Miss you T, Of course,

Bonnie S.

  1. Oh those little distractions will be a bright light in your days. I am not a video player, so P vs Z has no attraction to me. I think it is hilarious that you are a dedicated player of that game.
