Family day at Top of the Rock to cheer on my very amazing niece, Leigh! MS will not defeat her! It’s easy to stand with her and her network of friends and family. Yes, I was up in the darkness but how could I possibly complain. An easy ride into the city with a playlist compliments of Alicia Keys.
I was there to cheer her on. I was there to applaud another year of her triumph! It’s good to be an aunt, really good. I’m proud to travel in her circle and get to do a bit of networking for something that’s dear to my heart.
As long as Leigh’s Climbing, I’ll be there cheering!
And now… snow falls…
Amazing! I really admire people who can do endurance challenges like this. I have no desire to do all the training that must go into it!
Leigh is turning 30 now… she was married in October and she’s a PT… and of course, her family also rose to the occasion and supports her.
This sentence to me denotes support, love and pride. “I was there to applaud another year of her triumph!, ” Thanks for sharing.
It’s a pleasure to share her work!
How wonderful! I love how you transitioned from strength and triumph to peace and tranquility. Lovely.
I tried climbing once. I didn’t train specifically for the stairway but I was cocky and thought that any exercise would work. I got up to the 32 floor- 1/2 way and my heart was pounding and I was sweating and I stopped. Tuvia, my partner and a doctor, made me promise to never try it again and listen to my heart… I promised. 🙂
I think you have posted about this before and I remember thinking about the magnitude of this challenge! It’s a physical version of the crazy writing challenge!
Probably every year. It’s always held the first Sunday in March and what a perfect subject for a slice don’t you think?
Keep going, Leigh! That’s really great.
Quite the kid !
What a great accomplishment. What an inspiration she must be to others.
She’s amazing and so kind
My sense is it’s ‘easy’ for you to stand with quite a few people. You set a generous example to follow!
Yay Leigh! Obviously she has a great family to support her too!
Bonnie! I remember reading about this climb before! What a wonderful event! My best friend has MS so this is dear to my heart as well. Every climber needs a cheering squad!
Bravo to your brave niece, and to you for being such a supportive, loving aunt!
