I have been writing often about the white winter that continues to snow on my parade and this could be my last snow slice because yesterday, even though we were still in a deep freeze I could smell spring and yesterday I began to prepare for spring- I removed bread from my diet, because I want to warmly welcome the coming of shorts and tees and sandals as I put away my loose winter sweats…
Bread, I do love you, but for now, I have to let you go because you feel good going down but you tend to lie there and get in the way of my energy and you and your bad carb friends add bulges that I don’t like to see, so bye for now…
I am sure that winter isn’t over, but I can see spring now… no turning back…
Yesterday I cleaned out the spent blooms from the Lenten Rose I planted last spring, and I picked up sticks in the yard. Yes, spring is coming! Hooray.
I wrote about spring today and yet it’s a very different type of post from this winter loving gal. I appreciate your excitement.
I am hoping to get outside and do some yard work over these next two days. Let’s hear it for warmer weather!
Yard work! That’s a sure sign of spring. Alas, there are still 8 foot tall snow banks in my yard. ;( I’ll live through you’re preparations!
Jack and I played on the deck yesterday! We eyed the sun the day before, but I’m a bit of a wimp about cold weather. Yesterday was perfect for trucks and boys and Grandmas too.
I can feel the energy in your words today! Spring!
I felt spring yesterday, just a hint of it as I slow-walked to do some errands and my jacket felt too warm. I am craving spring, so ready for it. Hope it finds us all soon!
Each day I wake up and think that maybe spring will be coming along then, I step outside and feel the chill. Let’s hope it does hurry up and join us. Bread-yes it is my downfall too.
