Here’s the past. It’s hard to ignore it. Memories on Facebook flood me with these beach memories and honestly, it’s a sweet feeling reminding me of what it was to be coupled with Tuvia. Tuvia allowed me to be a freer me. Before him wasn’t comfortable in the sand and I’m not sure that he was a beach lover either, but together, the sand walks at the edge of the ocean, lovely breakfasts, evening breezes, the colors of Mexico when we escaped the boredom of winter’s white cold in March…
Of course I could be content to stay longer…
I’d like to find a way back to the sand, but it will be different…
And today, in a few hours, I’ll be a Nyack tour guide for my oldest friend, Steven Nash. We haven’t seen each other in 30 years. How about that for a slice?
Whoops… I thought that St. Patrick’s Day was yesterday, my dad’s birthday…and hey, it’s today… So I’m not going to be said, dad… the sun is shining… Steven will want to toast to you. So Happy B day…
Have fun with your long-time-since-seen friend today.
Kevin
Should be memorable… remembering my dad today.
Sometimes Facebook memories can jog us, but nothing wrong with that. Even if they sometimes sadden us there is still joy to be found in them. I imagine Tuvia and your dad are celebrating a birthday and St. Patrick’s Day.
I’ve been staying away from my beach memories but I couldn’t resist today
Your title is intriguing and I expected pictures and memories which are the foundation of our lives.
I am anchored in the pictures of my life
Sometimes I read your slices and just want to hug you, no words. This is one of those.
Got it❤️
Hope your day has been a good one! We celebrated my mother-in-laws 89th birthday and enjoyed photos that my 5 year old great niece brought with her. She wanted to use photos to tell her life story:)
I’m nothing without my photos
Sounds like a wonderful way to enjoy memories of the past…and enjoy the present! Hope it was a fun day! (Maybe the topic of tomorrow’s slice…)
Good idea
Bonnie, I have missed reading your slices so I am going to go backwards and tune in.
