Morning Writer,
First, Shout Out to Ruth Ayers, for reaching out to me, wondering where I was, how I was in my silence from our new writing community. I KNEW I would return as I read her SOS… 🙂
I’ve been away for all the right reasons- working with teacher/writers/learners with the Hudson Valley Writing Project. Often my month of July is filled with co-facilitating writing workshops for teachers and it seemed that in this unique COVID summer our work would be even more important and I think it was. The challenge of zooming seemed to lend itself to giving people the luxury of time to write and share with us. Loved it! I worked with good friends and we expanded our HVWP community. Yes, it was exhausting but so worthwhile. Here’s one of our groups celebrating the end of a productive week.
But life continues to be a mixed blessing. For the last two years I have been traveling and documenting, and supporting programs supporting those people in the world that are not a fortunate as I am. I suppose I have been waiting for this opportunity to Take Action and Give Back. So for my birthday this year I have a fundraiser running on Facebook supporting the work of the non-profit: Road to a Better Life.
Maybe it’s not in the news that poor children and their families in the remote areas of northern Thailand are suffering in this pandemic but they are… I believe so deeply that we are ONE WORLD, ONE PEOPLE
I don’t need gifts… just the thrill of seeing the $$$ tick up with donations for people in need. Please join us if you can…

It’s good to be back friends,
Bonnie
Glad to see your words again. Ruth is persistent, isn’t she? She is an excellent nudger. 🙂 Glad you are busy with the HVWP group and feeling fulfilled with the work.
Good to have positive outlets right?
What a beautiful birthday goal. I love the Writing Project and admire your work there!
Ruth has this amazing ability to reach out with the just right words at the just right time.
It would be so natural to wish to withdraw from everything when times are strange and tough. You take the opposite and much better approach – reaching out and making a positive difference.
Thank you for these sweet words. I love the way stories make the world a better place!
Glad to hear all is well and you are pursuing your passions!
Bonnie,
I’m so glad for the update. You are an inspiration! I wish I could give you an in-person hug!
xo,
Ruth
